I’m a poptart.
The Scion contest has sent all the semi-finalists a preparation pack that includes 21 electronic music tracks that are all instrumental. We are supposed to pick 3 tracks and write original lyrics and melodies that we will be performing live for the vocalist contest. It is called a “vocalist contest,” but this seems more like a songwriting and performance contest. oooh, but I am not complaining. This is much more my style. I am thrilled that I get to write and perform. I haven’t had a show in foreva, so I’m just gonna pretend this is my next show. Costumes and Dancing included.
I have been working day in and day out on my songs. For some reason, these electronic music tracks are making me write like a poptart. I’ve always battled my musical theater and show choir past from taking over my creative output, but this is ridiculous. I’ve written a song called Moon Machine. Ok, It’s pretty cheesy but I actually like it. Disco in the sky when you’re by my side with your moon machine. whatever that means.
